New Rixing only selects gold samples to supply iPhone Duo hinges
Taiwanese precision parts manufacturer New Sun Technology is currently only screening gold sample hinges that meet Apple's standards to supply Apple's foldable smartphone iPhone Duo, with related production still unstable. The iPhone Duo announced by Apple on the 9th local time has unstable hinge production as the biggest factor affecting the delay in the production schedule.
The original first supplier was Amphenol from the United States, but due to low yield rates, the second supplier New Sun Technology has become the first supplier for production. The yield rate of New Sun Technology's hinges remains low, with only qualified products sent to Foxconn. The supply of back panels is also tight, with the second supplier Lingyi Technology in China facing difficulties in mass production.
Apple has provided partners with an estimate of components that can produce about 5 to 6 million complete units by the end of this year. Pre-orders will start on October 16, with the release date set for October 23. Prices start at $1999 for the 256GB model and go up to $3199 for the 2TB model.
