Michael Burry: The behavior of AI giants calling for a slowdown in development is an act of "selfishness."
According to Business Insider, Michael Burry, the prototype character of the movie "The Big Short" and a well-known short-seller, fiercely criticized the statement made by OpenAI and Anthropic CEO calling to "slow down AI development," accusing it of being highly self-serving.
Michael Burry listed four core reasons: large language models are not true AI, protecting vested interests, creating hype for IPOs, and concealing the dilemma of sluggish growth. Michael Burry further pointed out that the so-called "active call to slow down" is merely a cover-up for the uncontrollable slowdown in industry growth and the forced delay of IPO plans.
