Eight Banking Industry Associations: The Clarity Act's circuit breaker mechanism is not a guarantee
According to Eleanor Terrett, host of Crypto In America, eight banking industry associations stated in a letter to Senate leaders that the newly added "circuit breaker mechanism" for deposit outflows in the revised Clarity bill text is not a safeguard at all, believing that this mechanism will only be activated after a significant outflow of deposits has already occurred.
The aforementioned associations called for further tightening of the wording related to stablecoin rewards to close what they believe are still potential loopholes that could allow for interest payments on stablecoin balances, with the core demands largely unchanged.
