Former DeepMind researcher: AI has the potential to kill all of humanity

Recently, AI researcher Bilal Chughtai, who resigned from Google DeepMind, posted on X and LinkedIn on Monday, stating that humanity is running out of time to prevent artificial intelligence from causing widespread harm. He wrote: At Google, I witnessed the development of AI firsthand. I am also extremely concerned about the default trajectory of this technology. I sincerely believe that AI has the potential to kill us all.

Chughtai stated that he worked on AI safety and alignment at the company under Alphabet. This is another employee expressing concerns about the direction of technological development. Google has not yet responded to requests for comments.
