LeBron and Polymarket contract may reach 15 million dollars per year
According to Front Office Sports, NBA superstar LeBron James' commercial contract with the prediction market platform Polymarket could be worth $15 million per year.
Renowned basketball journalist Siegel pointed out that, based on the current understanding, commercial collaborations between NBA players and external companies do not necessarily violate the existing labor agreement. However, the issue arises if players in the future accept lower NBA contracts to create salary cap space for their teams in exchange for significant off-court income. Such arrangements could effectively resemble "salary cap circumvention." Even if they do not directly violate the rules in form, if there is a clear linkage between off-court income and team salaries, the NBA may pay closer attention to such operations in the future.
