The UK's FCA, in conjunction with the Customs and Excise Department and the Metropolitan Police, has once again cracked down on illegal over-the-counter cryptocurrency trading

2026-09-17 17:40:59

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) of the United Kingdom, in conjunction with Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and the Metropolitan Police Service, conducted raids at multiple locations in London targeting three suspected illegal peer-to-peer cryptocurrency trading venues, issuing cessation notices to the relevant operators, demanding an immediate halt to unregistered cryptocurrency activities.

The FCA emphasized that any business engaging in peer-to-peer cryptocurrency trading activities in the UK must complete anti-money laundering registration, and currently, there are no peer-to-peer cryptocurrency trading businesses registered with the FCA within the UK.
