Li Fei-Fei: Calls for independent agencies to oversee advanced AI

Founder of World Labs and Stanford University professor Fei-Fei Li called for more oversight of advanced AI systems by independent organizations and the public sector, stating that safety assessments should not be solely the responsibility of the developing companies.

She stated on Bloomberg Technology on Tuesday that internal researchers at companies can measure the capabilities and safety attributes of individual models, but this cannot replace broader standards developed collaboratively by government, industry, and academic institutions.
