Xi Jinping departs Beijing for a state visit to the United States

On the afternoon of September 23, President Xi Jinping left Beijing on a special plane, at the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump, for a state visit to the United States. Accompanying President Xi on the trip were his wife Peng Liyuan, Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee Cai Qi, and member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee Wang Yi, among others.
