FATF released Turkey's 2026 Mutual Evaluation Report on Anti-Money Laundering, included in the enhanced follow-up list

According to the FATF official website, FATF released the mutual evaluation report for Turkey in 2026 on September 23. The report shows that Turkey has made progress in the use of financial intelligence and international cooperation, but there are still significant shortcomings in money laundering investigations related to high-risk predicate crimes (such as drug trafficking and illegal gambling), recovery of overseas assets, and reporting of suspicious transactions.

Turkey received a "partially compliant" rating for targeted financial sanctions related to proliferation financing (R.7) and regulation of non-profit organizations (R.8), and was ultimately placed on the enhanced follow-up list, requiring key rectifications to be completed within three years and regular progress reports.
