According to data from Freddie Mac, the average interest rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage in the United States rose to 7.28% this week, the highest level since November 2023. The 15-year fixed mortgage rate increased to 6.6%. High interest rates continue to suppress the real estate market, with existing home sales in August declining by 2% month-over-month, equivalent to an annual rate of 3.98 million units.
