OKX has applied to the U.S. SEC to launch a tokenized U.S. stock trading platform, planning to initially support 63 stocks listed on the New York Stock Exchange
According to Bloomberg, OKX has submitted an application to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch a tokenized stock trading platform, becoming one of the first major cryptocurrency exchanges to utilize the new U.S. regulations allowing the digital versions of publicly traded company stocks to be traded on crypto platforms.
The joint venture OKX ICE LLC, established by OKX and the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), plans to apply to provide tokenized stock trading services for 63 companies listed on the NYSE. According to the SEC's new framework, the relevant issuers have 30 days to opt-out, after which tokenized stock trading can commence.
