Gate partners with Visa to launch a crypto-linked card, bringing digital assets into everyday spending
During TOKEN2049 Singapore 2026, according to the official announcement, Gate announced a partnership with Visa to launch a crypto asset-linked card, with related services expected to be rolled out in over 40 markets worldwide. Users can apply for and manage the card through the Gate App and use digital assets for payments at online and offline merchants that accept Visa, with the relevant digital assets automatically converted to fiat currency during the payment process.
Gate has officially launched Gate Money, integrating functions such as digital assets, fiat currency, stocks, ETFs, gold, bank accounts, and payments into the Gate App. Eligible users can apply online for a global bank electronic account in their name and complete fund transfers, asset exchanges, and payments on the same platform. This card further connects account assets with daily consumption, extending the service chain of "account opening - funds - assets - consumption." Currently, users can activate Gate Money with one click by updating the Gate App to version v8.39.0.
Visa's digital payment network covers over 200 countries and regions, with more than 175 million merchant acceptance points. This collaboration merges Gate's digital asset capabilities with Visa's global payment infrastructure. Gate founder and CEO Dr. Han stated that the partnership will make the use of digital assets more flexible and intuitive; Visa's Head of Digital Currency for the Asia-Pacific region, Nischint Sanghavi, stated that Visa is committed to connecting new forms of value with established digital payment infrastructure.
