Cognition acquires AI coding security company Corridor
On October 28, Jack Cable, co-founder of AI coding security company Corridor, and Ashwin Ramaswami published an article on the Cognition official website stating that Corridor will join Cognition and take Devin Security to the next stage. Cognition later stated on X that the company is acquiring Corridor. Cognition is the developer of AI software engineer Devin.
Jack Cable and Ashwin Ramaswami wrote that Corridor was founded about two years ago with the mission of accelerating secure and autonomous software development, and it has now become a security layer for AI-native teams. The two stated that they will collaborate with Cognition President and early Corridor advisor Russell Kaplan, Chief Security Officer Alex Stamos, and Chief Technology Officer Steven Hao. They also mentioned that throughout their careers, they have discovered and fixed vulnerabilities in critical systems and believe that AI agents are now capable of executing end-to-end attack chains, necessitating new tools for defenders.
Previously, Corridor announced in August 2025 the completion of a $5.4 million seed round led by Conviction, and in March 2026 announced the completion of a $25 million Series A round led by Felicis, with a valuation of $200 million, with participation from Conviction, Timeless, Lux Capital, Datadog, SV Angel, and others. Its product positioning is to embed security controls in the process of AI-generated code, rather than adding security measures after the code is written.
