Arkham: Binance was hacked for $6.01 billion, $2.8 billion has been frozen

The on-chain intelligence platform Arkham stated that the hacker marked by them transferred $6.01 billion from Binance's hot wallet across nine chains between 20:10 and 23:05 (UTC) on October 29. The issuer has frozen $2.8 billion of this amount, while approximately $2.9 billion in ETH, BTC, TRX, SOL, and other tokens remains transferable. Arkham also cited Binance's statement that the platform is aware of reports related to potential security issues, user funds are safe, and withdrawals have been suspended; Binance co-founder CZ indicated that the situation appears to be an attack on Binance.

Arkham reported that approximately $4.9 billion was transferred within 15 minutes. At 20:10:18 (UTC), 965,455 SOL were transferred on Solana, amounting to about $95.4 million; at 20:20:06, 11 transactions within a Bitcoin block transferred 18,270.2 BTC, approximately $1.467 billion; at 20:24:23, a single Ethereum transaction transferred 64 types of tokens from a Binance address, totaling approximately $2.532 billion, including 167,464 ETH (about $387.8 million) and 1.62 billion USDT.

By chain statistics, Ethereum accounted for approximately $3.739 billion, including about $1.875 billion in USDT, about $823 million in USDC, and 197,540 ETH worth about $457 million; Bitcoin accounted for 18,270.2 BTC, approximately $1.467 billion; TRON accounted for about $628 million; Solana accounted for 970,522 SOL, approximately $95.9 million; Arbitrum, Avalanche, Polygon, Optimism, and Base collectively accounted for about $7.77 million. The transferable portion includes 495,724 ETH (approximately $1.09 billion) across 10 addresses, as well as 18,270.2 BTC (approximately $1.41 billion) that have not moved since 20:48, distributed across 19 addresses.
