According to a report by the blockchain analysis platform Chainalysis, the economic and financial police department of Foggia, Italy, recently uncovered a tax evasion case. The individuals involved are suspected of using the Bitcoin Ordinals protocol and the BRC-20 token standard to create and resell tokens, concealing approximately $1.1 million (€1 million) in capital gains on-chain, with the profits continuously reinvested into new inscription operations.Chainalysis pointed out that although such emerging technological means may seem covert, the inherent transparency of blockchain leaves a permanent and immutable record of transactions. Blockchain intelligence can effectively track tax evasion by reconstructing financial networks and cross-referencing exchange declaration data. The agency warned that as new categories of digital assets continue to emerge, the gap between real on-chain wealth and declared tax status will become a key investigation target for global law enforcement agencies.

UniSat announces that it will complete a system upgrade around the latest version of Ordinals, covering the indexing layer, protocol support layer, product layer, and API layer. This upgrade is expected to be gradually completed in the coming weeks, aiming to enhance the standardization of the Ordinals ecosystem and the on-chain data expression capability. At the infrastructure level, UniSat is upgrading its Ordinals index to the latest version, providing a data foundation for supporting new features in the future while improving the stability and scalability of the index. After the upgrade, the index will support the Traits feature recently introduced by Ordinals, allowing for attribute-based filtering in transactions, enhancing the expression capability and composability of collection assets. The next version of UniSat Wallet will add support for the import process from other mainstream wallets. UniSat Marketplace will gradually implement multiple functional upgrades in the coming weeks, and UniSat Inscribe will support the new on-chain collection inscription, simplifying the existing inscription process. The updated UniSat API will also support the aforementioned new features, including querying new on-chain data such as Traits, minting on-chain collections, and enabling zero-fee transaction capabilities.

UniSat officially stated on social media that the team has noticed recent changes in the Bitcoin ecosystem (Magic Eden will close its Bitcoin and EVM markets). However, for UniSat, it will continue to firmly support the development of the Bitcoin mainnet ecosystem and will keep investing in the infrastructure for Ordinals, Runes, and brc-20.The following phased adjustments and upgrades will be implemented in the future: UniSat Marketplace: gradually lowering the market participation threshold. Starting from March 1, 2026, UniSat Marketplace will implement a 90-day zero service fee policy across the platform. UniHexa: expanding the current invitation round. Next week, the early access invitation scope for UniHexa will be expanded. UniHexa is a unified on-chain exchange service for brc-20 and Runes. brc-20: a technical discussion on single-step transfers will soon begin. The team will soon share detailed technical discussions on implementing brc-20 single-step transfers on the Bitcoin mainnet. For developers: UniSat API upgrade. The UniSat API is expected to be upgraded to a fully functional MCP soon, capable of providing commercial-grade Bitcoin on-chain data. Long-term participation in the Fractal standard indexing service. UniSat will gradually purchase FB from the market to participate in the Fractal standard indexing service, which is planned to launch in Q2. The initial phase will purchase no less than 500,000 FB, and the first phase deployment will start and complete within 15 days. These FB will be used for long-term participation in index staking.

ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk, the Bitcoin token protocol BRC20 has taken a step towards achieving Ethereum-style smart contracts.According to an announcement disclosed on Monday, starting from Bitcoin block 912,690, this Bitcoin token protocol has integrated the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) into its core logic. This upgrade, known as BRC2, was jointly completed by Best in Slot, the developer of the Ordinals protocol, and Domo, the anonymous founder of BRC20. Best in Slot CEO Eril Binari Ezerel stated that previous meta-protocols like Ordinals relied on "calculator-style" indexers, and with the integration of EVM, BRC20 will possess Turing completeness. Domo further stated that the ultimate goal is to merge the two gold standards: Bitcoin as the most decentralized and secure network, and EVM as the most mature virtual machine, allowing users to experience Ethereum's composability and programmability while enjoying Bitcoin-level security.

ChainCatcher news, according to The Block, Bitcoin on-chain transaction activity has fallen to its lowest level in a year and a half, with the 7-day moving average transaction volume dropping to 316,000 last week, currently slightly rebounding to about 350,000, far below the mid-2024 peak of 700,000.The speculative frenzy around Bitcoin-native protocols like Runes and Ordinals has subsided, and traders' interest has shifted to other blockchain ecosystems. Since the beginning of the year, Bitcoin transaction fees have remained below $1.50, indicating minimal competition for block space and a return to traditional transfer purposes. Some users are attempting to initiate transactions with fees below 1 sat/vB, and the mining pool MARA has launched the "Slipstream" channel to handle ultra-low fee transactions, sparking debates among Bitcoin developers about network standards and censorship resistance.

This protocol aims to introduce trustless asset management and programmability to the Bitcoin ecosystem, addressing the lack of interoperability among existing Bitcoin asset protocols (such as BRC-20, Runes, Ordinals, etc.), which leads to fragmented liquidity and security risks.

This update also adds a wallet address message signing feature and fixes an issue with the display of minting progress. No reports have been received from users regarding asset losses due to this vulnerability.
