链捕手消息，以太坊核心开发者 Eric Conner 发推特称，“为了符合以太坊对最低必要发行量的承诺，已经开始分析我们为安全支付的费用（与对 EIP-1234 的分析一致），我正在考虑创建一个 EIP，将区块奖励从 2 ETH 减少到 1 ETH。”EIP-1234 此前提议减少区块奖励以及暂缓难度炸弹。
另外，3 月 12 日，有矿工提出提案 EIP-3368，提议将以太坊网络当前区块奖励从 2 ETH 增加至 3 ETH，并之后在每个区块逐步降低，直到 8,000,000 区块（约 2 年）后降低至每个区块 1 ETH 奖励。
