Coinbase has filed a motion to submit a non-party brief in the case involving the SEC and Ripple
ChainCatcher news, Coinbase has filed a motion with the judge to submit an amicus brief regarding the lawsuit between the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Ripple Labs, stating that the lack of clarity in crypto enforcement actions puts U.S. exchanges at a disadvantage. Coinbase urges the court to deny the SEC's motion for summary judgment, arguing that due to the SEC's lack of transparency, companies attempting to comply have suffered significant losses.
Previously reported, in September, both Ripple and the SEC requested the judge to make a summary judgment in the case of Ripple selling unregistered securities XRP; in October, the Blockchain Association had filed a motion to submit an amicus brief related to the SEC and Ripple Labs lawsuit.
