ConsenSys founder: Infura is moving towards decentralization to reduce platform risks and will not monetize collected data
ChainCatcher news, ConsenSys founder Joseph Lubin explained regarding its recently controversial privacy policy, "MetaMask is a software product developed by ConsenSys. ConsenSys does not operate MetaMask, MetaMask does not collect IP addresses, and routes transaction information for processing by RPC providers. Infura receives requests from MetaMask (or other software products that use it) and returns answers to those requests. Infura is moving towards decentralization to further reduce platform risks for software developers and end users. Infura does not utilize this data, nor does it monetize it, and is seeking technical solutions to minimize data collection, including anonymization techniques and completely eliminating collected data."
