ChainCatcher news, according to CoinDesk, UK Chancellor Andrew Griffith reiterated the country's "ambition" to become a crypto hub at the "TheCityUK" national conference held in Edinburgh, stating that the FTX bankruptcy will not change the agenda for the UK to become a crypto center. Andrew Griffith mentioned that it would be foolish to ignore the potential of the underlying technology, while confirming that he will continue to chair the UK's cryptocurrency engagement group to hear from the crypto industry and share progress.

In addition, Andrew Griffith added, "For me, the recent events in the crypto market reinforce the case for timely, clear, and effective regulation. The Financial Services and Markets Bill has enabled us to establish a framework for regulating crypto assets and stablecoins in the UK, and we will consult on a world-leading regime for other crypto asset markets later this year."
