According to ChainCatcher, in a four-page document submitted by the U.S. Department of Justice on Friday, prosecutors stated that SBF attempted to contact "the current general counsel of FTX US" via the encrypted messaging app Signal and email on January 15, who has been identified as "Witness-1." Additionally, SBF also tried to reach out to other current and former employees of FTX.

As a result, the document requests to prevent SBF from contacting current or former employees of FTX as well as employees of his trading firm Alameda Research, unless a lawyer is present or government permission is obtained. The document also requests that the judge prohibit SBF from using "any encrypted or temporary calling or messaging applications to prevent obstruction of justice, including but not limited to Signal."
