According to ChainCatcher, as reported by CoinDesk, U.S. prosecutors have requested to postpone the civil fraud cases brought by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) against SBF until after the conclusion of his criminal case.

Prosecutors stated that the delay would save time and resources, "as the outcome of the criminal case may have a significant impact on the disputed issues in the civil case." It is reported that SBF has agreed to postpone the civil case, and the lawyers for other FTX and Alameda executives Gary Wang and Caroline Ellison have also agreed, but the SEC and CFTC have not yet commented on the request for postponement.
