ChainCatcher news, according to a report by blockchain media Protos citing the annual report released by the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC), an FTX-related Australian entity, HiveEx, donated $27,540 during the 2021-2022 period. In August 2020, Alameda Research acquired the OTC trading platform HiveEx.

According to Protos' review of company documents, SBF was immediately appointed as a director of the entity. FTX subsequently announced that it would use HiveEx and its owner Alameda Research as banking channels for AUD deposits and withdrawals. Ultimately, the ownership of the entity was transferred from Alameda Research to FTX Australia for a nominal amount. (source link)
