U.S. Prosecutor: SBF can only use "non-smartphones" during bail and is restricted from accessing websites
ChainCatcher news, according to Bloomberg, U.S. prosecutors stated regarding the bail conditions that FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) will use a flip phone or other "non-smartphone" to ensure he cannot access the internet during his bail period. His phone capabilities will be limited to voice calls and text messages. Additionally, SBF is prohibited from using a virtual private network (VPN) on his phone, but he is allowed to use a laptop, provided he logs in through a VPN, and can only access two types of websites: those deemed necessary for preparing his defense by his lawyers; and other websites that the U.S. believes do not pose a risk. The 23 websites allowed for personal use include various news sites, Netflix, Doordash, Uber Eats, Major League Baseball, and the National Football League.
Documents show that SBF's parents are also required to submit sworn statements listing the serial numbers and MAC addresses of their iPhone, Apple laptop, and desktop iMac. (source link)
