Biden: Confident that the U.S. will not default, will hold a press conference on debt issues on Sunday

ChainCatcher News, President Biden stated during a speech on the debt ceiling issue: "Yesterday's talks were productive. I am confident that we will reach an agreement (on the debt ceiling) and I am certain that the United States will not default. We must come together because there is no other choice. The leaders agree that we will not default. I am proud of the progress the government has made in reducing the deficit. A group of negotiators met on Tuesday night, and we will meet again on Wednesday. I will stay in close contact with the negotiators during my visit."

Biden also stated: "We will continue to discuss until we reach an agreement. A press conference on the debt issue will be held on Sunday." (source link)
