Worldcoin launches new measures to combat the buying and selling of iris information by KYC service providers

ChainCatcher news reports that, according to relevant information, some KYC service providers are purchasing iris information from ordinary people in low-income countries and regions for as low as $30, due to certain areas' crypto users being unable to register for a share when the Worldcoin token was launched.

A Worldcoin spokesperson acknowledged this phenomenon but emphasized that the issue is limited to "a few hundred instances." The spokesperson stated that Worldcoin has taken several steps to try to control this problem, including "adjusting the initial in-person registration process and implementing dynamic and static QR codes." Additionally, if a user's account is compromised, they can regain their World ID through a second iris scan linked to their verified account, which will help prevent the illegal sale of identification certificates.
