The Shanghai Municipal Government's executive meeting has in principle agreed to the "Three-Year Special Action Plan for Key Technology Breakthroughs in the Shanghai Metaverse (2023-2025)."

ChainCatcher news, Shanghai Municipal Committee Deputy Secretary and Mayor Gong Zheng presided over a municipal government executive meeting, requiring increased efforts to support the development of private investment according to the committee's deployment, to create a key innovation hub for metaverse technologies and a high ground for the innovative development of computational biology, and to continuously promote the construction of a strong intellectual property city.

The meeting generally agreed to the "Shanghai Metaverse Key Technology Special Action Plan for Three Years (2023---2025)" and pointed out that the market should be leveraged to make Shanghai a key innovation source for metaverse technologies. Three areas of work should be emphasized: first, strategy, grasping innovation laws, focusing on strategic methods, making proactive deployments, scientific layouts, and orderly breakthroughs. Second, application scenarios, promoting new technologies, new products, and new models of the metaverse to land first in cultural tourism, national fitness, digital cities, and other fields, creating a number of typical scenarios.
