ConsenSys releases a cryptocurrency survey report and will host a global virtual hackathon

ChainCatcher news, Ethereum co-founder and ConsenSys founder Joseph Lubin announced the launch of the new website consensys.io and released a survey on cryptocurrency and Web3. The survey targeted over 15,000 respondents from 15 countries or regions regarding cryptocurrency, blockchain, and Web3. Additionally, ConsenSys will host a global virtual hackathon, Not Another Virtual Hackathon, from July 6 to August 21, 2023, with a prize pool of $115,500.

The related survey shows that 92% of respondents worldwide have heard of cryptocurrency, but only 8% of respondents consider themselves very familiar with the concept of Web3. Furthermore, concerns about data privacy are prominent, as 83% of respondents prioritize data privacy, 70% believe they should share in the profits companies make from their data, and 79% wish to have better control over their online identity.
