Meta officially launches Threads, an app that competes with Twitter
ChainCatcher news, Meta officially launched its standalone social application Threads in the United States today, which is an app aimed at competing with Twitter. Analysts say that this app will utilize some of Instagram's infrastructure and allow people to log in using their Instagram accounts, a move that could help it quickly gain followers.
Ins's Vice President of Product, Hayes, stated, "This is a space that Twitter has entered and led for a while, but our perspective is that this is an opportunity, as people are looking for more options." Currently, there will be no limit on the number of posts users can see on Threads. This is one of the key differences between the two apps.
Hayes mentioned that he cannot promise that ads will not be added to Threads in the future, but for now, Meta is focused on developing this app. The app will be released in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store and will launch in over 100 countries. (Source link)
