U.S. SEC Chairman: The SEC often communicates its position through enforcement actions
ChainCatcher news, according to Decrypt, SEC Chairman Gary Gensler expressed disappointment over the recent ruling by a judge in the case against Ripple during a speech at the National Press Club.
Gensler responded to public concerns about the SEC's recent crackdown on the crypto market and why the commission prioritizes enforcement actions over rule-making, stating, "This is what we've been doing all along," and added that since 1960, they have often expressed their stance through enforcement actions, such as in cases of insider trading.
Gensler also stated, "We will continue to work to bring companies that may not be in compliance into compliance, without prejudging any particular company." This includes companies responsible for developing cryptocurrencies and exchanges that conduct trading.
