ChainCatcher news, Flare co-founder and Flare Labs CEO Hugo Philion tweeted that he has always believed that after the lawsuit ends, XRP may face a significant sell-off. This is because XRP's primary use case (though not the only one) has always been cross-border transactions, and the main driving force behind this market remains Ripple.

Since the end of 2020, Ripple's ability to develop this market has been severely hindered by regulatory uncertainty. Now, Ripple has some clear news, but their work has been delayed for 2.5 years. Meanwhile, various stablecoin providers have proposed a viable high-friction alternative and have achieved considerable success in establishing this market.

Philion speculates that Ripple will achieve some success in future cross-border payments, especially in underserved areas of the traditional financial system. However, progress may be slow, as skepticism towards cryptocurrencies has increased in traditional finance following the emergence of SBF and other absurd events. On the other hand, many are working hard to develop new use cases for XRP and the XRP Ledger, but it will take time to see results.
