ChainCatcher news, Web3 credential data network Galxe tweeted that the website has fully recovered and is continuing to enhance security.

On October 6, an unidentified individual contacted the domain service provider Dynadot, impersonating an authorized Galxe member and using forged documents to bypass security processes. The impersonator gained unauthorized access to the domain account, using that access to redirect users to a fraudulent website and sign transactions to steal their funds.

All Galxe smart contracts and technical systems remain secure and protected. It is estimated that approximately 1,120 users who interacted with the malicious website were affected, with around $270,000 stolen. Efforts are actively underway with law enforcement and third-party experts to develop a fund recovery plan that will ensure every affected individual is compensated.
