One week after the mainnet launch, which DApps are Scroll users interacting with? How is the mainnet trading situation?

Written by: Karen, Foresight News

Today, Scroll officially announced the launch of its mainnet. In fact, a week ago, Scroll quietly initiated the genesis block, and some projects have begun to integrate or support the Scroll mainnet, providing users with more application scenarios and services.

Although the Scroll official channels remained silent over the past week, the Scroll mainnet is eager to go. Let’s take a look at the data situation of the Scroll mainnet and which DApps users are interacting with. At the same time, Foresight News will review the important milestone events in Scroll's development history.

Important Milestones in Scroll's Development

  • Scroll was founded in 2021. Subsequently, Scroll raised approximately $3 million from angel investors.
  • April 2022: Scroll completed a $30 million Series A funding round, led by Polychain Capital, with participation from Bain Capital Crypto, Robot Ventures, Geometry DAO, and others.
  • July 2022: Scroll launched the Pre-Alpha testnet.
  • October 2022: Scroll launched an upgraded version of the Pre-Alpha testnet, supporting the deployment of smart contracts.
  • February 2023: Scroll launched the Alpha testnet on Goerli.
  • March 2023: Scroll completed a $50 million funding round, with investors including Polychain Capital, Sequoia China, Bain Capital Crypto, Moore Capital Management, Variant Fund, Newman Capital, IOSG Ventures, Qiming Venture Partners, and OKX Ventures.
  • August 2023: Scroll launched the Beta testnet on Sepolia.
  • October 10, 2023: The Scroll mainnet produced its genesis block.
  • October 17, 2023: Scroll officially announced the launch of the mainnet.

Looking back at Scroll's development milestones, we can see that from the Pre-Alpha testnet, Alpha testnet, Beta testnet to the official launch of the mainnet, Scroll has been continuously attracting community members' participation and feedback, thereby gradually iterating and improving.

At the same time, Scroll has also successfully attracted the attention and financial support of investors, from the $3 million seed round, last year's $30 million Series A funding, to this year's new round of $50 million financing, fully reflecting the market's recognition of its potential and prospects.

The launch of the Scroll mainnet marks a new phase for the project. One week after the mainnet launch, let’s take a look at what data highlights are available.

100,000 Transactions on Scroll Mainnet in One Week

First, let’s look at the transaction situation on the Scroll mainnet. According to Blockscout data, verified transactions have currently surpassed 100,000 (including contract calls, trades, transfers, mints, etc.), with 101,916 transactions as of the time of writing, and an average daily transaction count of 12,330, while the number of wallet addresses exceeds 18,000.

In comparison, looking at the ZK Rollup track, the leading project zkSync Era had an average of 6.73 million transactions over the past month, Starknet had 3.53 million transactions, Linea had 1.22 million transactions, and Polygon zkEVM had fewer than 200,000 transactions.

From this, we can see the transaction situation of the Scroll mainnet in the ZK Rollup track. Considering that Scroll had not officially announced the mainnet launch prior and there was no official participation guidance, the current situation is not yet comparable and requires further observation and evaluation.

In terms of block production, Scroll currently has an average block time of 10.7 seconds, with a total block count exceeding 73,000.

532 ETH Cross-Chain to Scroll

According to Dune data, there are currently 532 ETH cross-chained to the Scroll mainnet, equivalent to approximately $840,000. The day after the Scroll mainnet launched, on October 11, the maximum amount of ETH cross-chained reached 243 ETH, while the number of ETH cross-chained in the following days was in the dozens.

As of 15 hours ago, there were 795 unique cross-chain addresses, among which the address 0x3375255e3e531452be479c4cd68b738193f7fb00 deposited 220 ETH (approximately $350,000) through 31 cross-chain transactions, accounting for over 40% of the total cross-chain amount.

From further data, 76% of cross-chain users deposited 1 transaction, and 9 addresses deposited more than 10 transactions. In terms of deposit amounts, nearly 67% of users (538 individuals) deposited between 0 - 0.1 ETH, with more than half of the users (410 individuals, 51.6%) depositing between 0.01 - 0.1 ETH, and 5 users deposited more than 20 ETH.

Which DApps are Users Interacting with on Scroll Mainnet?

According to the Blockscout Scroll mainnet Token page, if we refer to the tokens with the highest number of current holding addresses, the projects of interest include Merkly, Zonic on Scroll, PunkSwap Token, Skydrome, Scroll Name Service, Scroll Doge (zkDoge), Scrollswap Finance Token (SF), Script (SCRIPT), and Scroll Inu (Sinu).

Among them, Merkly claims to be a multifunctional Omnichain solution that cross-chains OFT (claiming MERK tokens and cross-chain) and ONFT (minting NFTs and cross-chain) across various networks via LayerZero. The day after the Scroll mainnet went live, Merkly supported the transfer of ONFT between Scroll and networks such as Optimism, Arbitrum, Avax, and Polygon, and also supports small top-ups through its Gas Refuel. Notably, Merkly's official page states that the MERK token has an unlimited supply and is not suitable for trading on public markets. Additionally, the current bridges supporting asset cross-chain include Owlto, among others.

Zonic is an NFT marketplace developed by the Apetimism team that operates across Ethereum Layer 2s and integrated Scroll the day after the Scroll mainnet launch. At the same time, Zonic launched commemorative NFTs for users to claim, with 3,302 claimed so far (out of a total of 100,000).

Skydrome is a ve(3,3) exchange on Scroll, referencing Velodrome's design, combining liquidity incentive engines, voting lock governance models, and more to reward participants who promote the sustainable development of the protocol.

Scroll Name Service is a domain project on Scroll, with 942 domains registered and 637 holding addresses.

In addition, similar to other new public chains and networks, several meme projects have also emerged on Scroll.

However, since many projects are in the early stages of development, users are advised to interact cautiously and DYOR.

Overall, with the launch of the Scroll mainnet and official incentives, we can expect the integration of leading DeFi projects into Scroll and the launch of more native DApps, thereby stimulating further increases in transaction volume and activity.
