Bitfinex CTO: The RGB protocol is the "best choice" for issuing stablecoins on Bitcoin
ChainCatcher news, Bitfinex Chief Technology Officer Paolo Ardoino stated in an interview with The Block that after Tether stopped using Omni to issue the stablecoin USDT, the RGB protocol is the best choice for issuing stablecoins on Bitcoin.
RGB is a smart contract system and off-chain protocol for Bitcoin and the Lightning Network that allows for the minting and issuance of Bitcoin-based digital assets. According to its website, Bitcoin educator Giacomo Zucco initially envisioned it in 2016, utilizing early ideas from Bitcoin core developer Peter Todd, as a "non-blockchain-based asset system."
