Application developers and privacy advocates claim that Ledger Live tracks users and accumulates user data
ChainCatcher news, according to a report by Cointelegraph, based on the report from the pseudonymous software developer and privacy advocate REKTBuilder, the Ledger Live software tracks users and accumulates user data. The developer investigated the software's Python code and found that every time a user connects a Ledger device to a computer or mobile phone, the software performs a "real device check." REKTBuilder claims that Ledger can use this check to determine the time and date of each user's device connection. He also stated that this check lists every application installed on the device, allowing Ledger to know which networks the wallet owner is using.
The developer attempted to remove the code but found that doing so would break the software, rendering it unusable. Despite this so-called privacy issue, REKTBuilder stated on X that they still use Ledger Live because "there are no other hardware options on native Avalanche."
