ChainCatcher news, according to Bloomberg, the International Energy Agency predicts in its latest report that global electricity demand from data centers, cryptocurrency, and artificial intelligence could more than double over the next three years, equivalent to the total electricity demand of Germany. There are over 8,000 data centers globally, with about 33% in the United States, 16% in Europe, and nearly 10% in China, with more planned. In Ireland, where data centers are rapidly developing, the International Energy Agency expects that by 2026, these industries will consume 32% of the country's total electricity.
