Meme tide recedes, AI sector tokens take over, is the altcoin season coming?

Affected by the announcement of the agenda for NVIDIA's GTC24 conference last night, the prices of several crypto AI projects and AI concept coins that announced participation in GTC24 surged significantly, with projects like NEAR, FET, RNDR, GPT, and NMT all seeing increases of over 20%.

The NVIDIA GTC "GPU Technology Conference" is an annual grand event in the AI field, gathering developers, researchers, business leaders, IT decision-makers, creators, and NVIDIA's partner ecosystem. The 2024 NVIDIA GTC conference will be held from March 18 to 21 in San Jose, California. BlockBeats has compiled a list of crypto projects that will participate in this conference for reference.

Which crypto projects will attend?

Near

Last night, NEAR Protocol co-founder Illia Polosukhin announced that he would attend the "Transforming AI" keynote speech and panel discussion on March 20 during the GTC24 conference. Notably, NVIDIA founder Jensen Huang will also participate in this session.

The keynote speech will introduce the transformer neural network architecture based on the groundbreaking paper "Attention Is All You Need," which has since dominated all fields of artificial intelligence and completely transformed the industry. Illia Polosukhin, co-founder of NEAR Protocol, is also one of the authors of this paper.

The paper "Attention is All You Need," released in the second half of 2017, proposed the Transformer neural network architecture, which has become a crucial underlying technology for today's natural language processing and artificial intelligence. The eight authors from Google Brain include Ashish Vaswani (founder of Adept AI Labs), Noam Shazeer (founder of character.ai), Aidan Gomez (founder of Cohere AI), Lukasz Kaiser, among others, who are also guests at this event.

In February 2023, Near stated that NEAR could serve as infrastructure to support the next generation of AI use cases, creating a value layer for setting rules and data pricing, allowing different applications and protocols to utilize this data in a public, fair, and transparent manner. Near has also partnered with consumer shopping data analysis platform Cosmose AI to establish a stablecoin payment system, allowing users to shop with cryptocurrencies at lower transaction fees.

As of the time of writing, the price of NEAR is $5.76, with a 24-hour increase of 41%.

Render

Jules Urbach, founder of Render Network, the world's first distributed GPU rendering network on the blockchain, will give a speech titled "The Future of Rendering: Real-Time Ray Tracing, AI, Holographic Displays, and the Blockchain" on Wednesday, March 20, from 3:00 PM to 3:50 PM (Pacific Daylight Time) during the GTC24 conference.

Jules Urbach is also the co-founder and CEO of cloud rendering company OTOY, which has been at the forefront of rendering software for over a decade. Their flagship application, Octane, is the first GPU-accelerated, unbiased, physically correct renderer, widely regarded as the best in its class. All major film studios, including Disney, use Octane for VFX.

Jules Urbach ventured into the crypto space because he has a vision for the metaverse, and to build the metaverse, content creation tools and rendering engines alone are not enough. The metaverse will require astronomical computing power: several orders of magnitude more than all the data centers in the world combined. The only way to achieve such computing power is by leveraging the hundreds of millions of potential GPUs owned by consumers worldwide.

Render Network was launched in 2017 to tap into this potential supply. Render Network allows for the distribution and processing of GPU-based complex rendering jobs on a large distributed peer-to-peer network. This enables creators to compute at unprecedented scale and price, providing stronger privacy guarantees than any existing cloud provider.

As of the time of writing, the price of RNDR is $9.94, with a 24-hour increase of 47%.

Can anyone attend if they pay?

In addition to the two projects mentioned above, many AI track projects have also announced their participation in NVIDIA's GTC24 conference. However, these projects only need to purchase tickets to attend and have not announced any specific activities they will hold or participate in during the conference. The ticket purchase deadline is March 17, and perhaps more crypto AI projects will choose to join this AI grand event. The following projects have officially announced their participation in the GTC24 conference for reference.

NetMind.AI (NMT)

NetMind.AI, which focuses on GPU sharing services, announced last night that it has been invited to attend NVIDIA's GTC24 conference, but no further agenda has been disclosed yet.

Following this announcement, the price of NMT surged past $12. As of the time of writing, the price of NMT is $12.14, with a 24-hour increase of 27.5%.

Node AI (GPU)

The GPU leasing project Node AI announced its participation in NVIDIA's GTC24 conference. Prior to this, Node AI updated its roadmap, stating that it will introduce an L1 blockchain customized for cross-node task allocation.

As of the time of writing, the price of GPU is $1.25, with a 24-hour increase of 1%.

MineAI

The computing power resource and GPU sharing project MineAI announced that it will participate in NVIDIA's GTC24 conference from March 19 to 21, during which it will discuss various details and future prospects of the project with MAI holders.

As of the time of writing, the price of MAI is $0.037, with a 24-hour increase of 217%.

QnA3.AI (GPT)

The AI-driven Web3 knowledge-sharing platform QnA3.AI announced that it will participate in NVIDIA's GTC24 conference from March 17 to 21. Previously, QnA3.AI announced that its second airdrop will take place at 04:00 UTC on April 2, 2024.

As of the time of writing, the price of GPT is $0.68, with a 24-hour increase of 8%.

AI and DePIN have been hot narratives this year. A few days ago, the Solana ecosystem DePIN protocol io.net announced the completion of a $30 million Series A financing, while in the past six months, the tokens of various AI projects have been continuously rising, thanks to the ongoing innovations from Web2 AI companies like OpenAI and NVIDIA, and the AI projects in the crypto space are also thriving.

With ten days to go until NVIDIA's annual AI conference, it is expected that the hype around AI concepts will not stop before the conclusion of the GTC24 conference.
