Data: The Trump-themed meme coin TRUMP has risen nearly 75% in the past two weeks, with some early traders realizing gains of over 1600%
ChainCatcher message, according to the analysis by on-chain data provider Nansen, the PoliFi token space is at the forefront of the convergence of politics, finance, and cryptocurrency. Trump-themed tokens have seen a significant surge in the past few weeks, creating a new batch of millionaires.
Although the issuance of the TRUMP token is not directly related to former U.S. President Donald Trump, traders view these tokens as speculative bets on his ongoing presidential campaign.
According to data from CoinGecko, in the past two weeks, the Meme coin MAGA (TRUMP) token has risen nearly 75%. On Tuesday, Trump's campaign team announced that it would begin accepting cryptocurrency donations (including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, and SHIB), causing the token price to rise by 14%.
In the process, some addresses holding MAGA (TRUMP) have seen unrealized gains of over 1600%. One address holds tokens worth over 5.5 million dollars.
Several addresses purchased six-figure amounts of TRUMP tokens, now holding unrealized gains exceeding 1 million dollars. They are gradually reducing their holdings but will not sell in a way that could cause a sudden price drop. Therefore, these sales were made before the campaign donation announcement on Tuesday.
However, data shows that those who recently purchased TRUMP tokens have a lower return on investment and an overall lower win rate.
Meanwhile, the value of TRUMP tokens sent to wallets directly associated with Trump has risen to nearly 5 million dollars. A wallet allegedly linked to Trump received 7,100 dollars worth of TRUMP tokens sent by the Meme coin developers between August and October 2023.
Sending tokens to wallets associated with well-known entities is sometimes used by Meme coin projects as a marketing strategy, as it can attract attention and spark investor interest.
Previously, Trump's campaign team officially announced on Tuesday that it would begin accepting cryptocurrency donations, allowing supporters to donate using "any cryptocurrency accepted through Coinbase Commerce products." The campaign team stated, "The limits and disclosure requirements for cryptocurrency donations will follow the regulations of the Federal Election Commission."
