ChainCatcher news, according to Bitcoin.com, on June 3, an entity that created eight wallets in 2013 transferred 200 bitcoins (currently worth $13.87 million) after being dormant for 11 years. If sold, the value of these bitcoins has increased by 197,785% since their purchase. These bitcoins were acquired between mid-February and the end of March 2013, when the trading price of each BTC ranged from $25 to $35. This means that at the peak BTC price at that time, the initial value of these funds was approximately $7,000.

The eight addresses are all traditional Pay-to-Pubkey-Hash (P2PKH) wallets, and the funds were transferred to two different Pay-to-Script-Hash (P2SH) wallets. Each wallet sent slightly over 25 bitcoins, valued at approximately $1.7 million at the current exchange rate. At the time of writing, these funds remain in the aforementioned wallets.

Data from the new wallets indicates that these funds consolidated previous dormant bitcoin transactions in March and January 2024. Data from btcparser.com and information from one address suggest that the same entity likely conducted eight different transactions on March 13, 2024, which are actually related to some transactions from 2013. This is because these 2013 transactions also appeared in the wallets used for the transfer (or relay).
