Austin Private Wealth manages approximately $1 billion in assets, with major shareholders including well-known investment firms like BlackRock and Vanguard. The timing of the short sale has raised market suspicions of insider trading. Austin Private Wealth explained that due to a technical failure in their trading system, the short sale order was placed incorrectly, and the company stated that the actual size of the order should have been much smaller and targeted at different securities.
