Insiders: OpenAI is in talks to raise $6.5 billion at a $150 billion valuation
ChainCatcher news, according to Bloomberg, informed sources revealed that OpenAI is in talks with investors to raise $6.5 billion at a valuation of $150 billion. The new valuation is significantly higher than the $86 billion valuation in the company's earlier tender offer earlier this year.
At the same time, informed sources disclosed that OpenAI is also in discussions with banks to raise $5 billion in debt financing in the form of a revolving credit facility. Discussions are still ongoing, and terms may change. This round of financing is expected to be led by Thrive Capital. The company's largest investor, Microsoft, will also participate, and Apple and Nvidia have also been negotiating investment matters.
