Traders tend to bet that the Federal Reserve will not cut interest rates before June
ChainCatcher news, after the Federal Reserve maintained its policy interest rate and dropped the long-mentioned term "progress" on inflation in its post-meeting statement, short-term interest rate futures pricing indicates a greater likelihood that the Fed will not cut rates before June. Following the statement, traders estimated the probability of a rate cut before June to be around 40%, down from nearly 50% in previous forecasts.
Interest rate futures contracts continue to point to June as the most likely month for a rate cut to resume, with a higher probability of a second 25 basis point cut before the end of the year. (Jin Shi)
