CFTC reviews Crypto.com and Kalshi Super Bowl prediction contracts
ChainCatcher news, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is reviewing Crypto.com and the prediction market platform Kalshi, focusing on whether their Super Bowl sports event contracts comply with derivatives regulations.
Crypto.com launched sports event trading products last year, allowing users to trade predictions on the Super Bowl game. In January, a CFTC panel of five commissioners voted to conduct a 90-day review of these contracts, with a vote expected in mid-April to decide whether to take enforcement action or establish new regulations.
