Data: A darknet market wallet holding over 400 million dollars in Bitcoin has been activated after 9 years of dormancy
ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, a cryptocurrency wallet holding over $400 million in Bitcoin has been activated after 9 years of dormancy. This wallet is linked to the dark web market Nucleus, which was one of many dark web markets that surged at the time, facilitating the sale of drugs, weapons, and other illicit goods.
On March 7, the entity controlling the wallet transferred $77.5 million worth of BTC to three new addresses, leaving $365 million in the main wallet. The wallet had been dormant since April 2016, when the dark web market was shut down, with 5,000 BTC in deposits from vendors and customers. According to Arkham's tracking, the value of those funds at that time was approximately $2.1 million.
