Vitalik: Even if most activities happen on L2, L1 scalability should not be overlooked

ChainCatcher message, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin discussed the development of Ethereum in 2025 at the ETHGlobal Taipei event, stating that even though most activities occur on L2, L1 scalability should not be overlooked. He listed several scenarios where L2 applications still rely on L1: L1 anti-censorship guarantees, asset transfers between L2s, large-scale exits from L2, asset issuance on L1, Keystore wallets, and L2 proof submissions.
