ZachXBT: The Taiwanese exchange BitoPro was allegedly hacked on May 8, resulting in a loss of approximately 11.5 million dollars
ChainCatcher news, according to monitoring by ZachXBT, the Taiwanese cryptocurrency exchange BitoPro allegedly suffered an attack on May 8, 2025, resulting in a loss of approximately $11.5 million. Suspicious fund outflows were observed in hot wallets across multiple chains including Tron, Ethereum, Solana, and Polygon, with assets being rapidly sold off through DEX markets.
The stolen funds were subsequently transferred to Tornado Cash or cross-chain to the Bitcoin network via Thorchain and deposited into a Wasabi wallet. As of now, BitoPro has not officially disclosed the incident, only informing users that the exchange is in a "maintenance" status.
