The United States has seized 145 domain names and cryptocurrencies related to dark web markets

ChainCatcher news, Cointelegraph reports that U.S. authorities have seized 145 domain names related to the BidenCash dark web marketplace and an undisclosed amount of cryptocurrency. BidenCash is a dark web marketplace accused of selling millions of stolen credit cards and personal data. This operation was announced by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia on June 5, and the seized domain names have been redirected to servers controlled by law enforcement.
Since its launch in March 2022, BidenCash has amassed over 117,000 users and facilitated the sale of over 15 million stolen payment card numbers and other personal identity information, generating over $17 million in revenue. The marketplace also sells stolen login credentials for unauthorized computer access.
The U.S. has also obtained court authorization to seize cryptocurrency funds related to BidenCash's illegal activities, but the amount of cryptocurrency recovered has not been disclosed. This operation is part of the U.S. crackdown on dark web cryptocurrency crime networks, following similar actions such as the May RapTor operation, which dismantled multiple dark web drug trafficking platforms, arrested 270 individuals, and seized $200 million in assets.
