Yu Yuantan Tian: In the face of unilateral tariffs from the U.S., China still has countermeasures
ChainCatcher news, according to a report by Yuyuan Tan cited by Jinshi, since the China-U.S. Geneva economic and trade talks, both sides have maintained communication on their respective concerns in the economic and trade fields through various bilateral occasions and at multiple levels. China's "sincerity" and "principles" in the consultations are also related to this.
The so-called "sincerity" refers to the fact that on non-principled issues, China will respect the concerns of the U.S. and can strive for a win-win outcome through the consultation mechanism, especially in technical consultations, where China has flexible space.
As for "principles," it has at least two meanings—facing the unilateral tariffs from the U.S., China still has countermeasures. In response to the coercion or threats during negotiations from the U.S., China firmly opposes and advises the U.S. to abandon such tactics.
