Is the Base chain about to launch its token? 6 projects worth paying attention to
Author: Jiahua, ChainCatcher
On September 15, Coinbase co-founder and CEO Brian Armstrong stated, "We are exploring the issuance of a native token for the Base network." The news immediately ignited market enthusiasm. According to CoinGecko data, Base ecosystem tokens generally rose: OPENX increased by 85.5% in 24 hours, AVNT rose by 34% in 24 hours, and ZORA rose by 18.6% in 24 hours. Against this backdrop, which ecological projects are worth our attention? This article will sort through various projects on the Base chain regarding this question.
Farcaster | Decentralized Social Platform
Farcaster is a decentralized social platform founded by former Coinbase executives, led by a16z, with a funding of $180 million. According to Dune data platform, there are currently over 1.1 million registered users, and each user is required to pay a $5 membership fee upon registration, which helps to prevent the involvement of fake users to some extent.
Farcaster emphasizes the portability of social identity, allowing users to switch freely between applications. Additionally, every piece of content published by users can be stored on-chain, eliminating concerns about being banned on centralized social platforms (like X).

Zora | Content Tokenization Protocol
Zora is a creator economy platform that allows user profiles and posts to be tokenized, aiming to help creators profit directly from content creation. When users publish content on the Zora platform, each post automatically generates a token, and creators can earn 1% of each transaction fee, distributed in the form of Zora tokens.
It is worth noting that the post "Base is for everyone," released by Base on April 17, was automatically minted on the Zora platform and was perceived by the market as an official token issuance from Base, triggering significant FOMO, which pushed the token's market value to $17 million in a short time, followed by a drop of over 90% within minutes. This indicates that tokens generated from Zora's tokenized posts typically have poor initial liquidity and extremely high volatility.

B3 | Gaming + Consumer Infrastructure
B3 is a gaming + consumer infrastructure project built on Base, where users can play integrated mini-games, while developers can use B3 to access their own developed blockchain games. Currently, B3 has also launched two products: Anyspend and B3 Explorer. The former is a financial payment system that supports users to deposit fiat currencies from Apple Pay, credit cards, ACH, etc.; the latter is similar to a Base app store, where users can interact with various tools within B3 Explorer.

Limitless | Prediction Market Platform
Limitless is the largest decentralized prediction market platform on the Base chain, focusing on short-term cryptocurrency and stock price predictions. Users can trade in hourly and daily prediction markets, with a cumulative trading volume exceeding $270M. Currently, Limitless has launched a points program, with a minimum trading threshold of 200 U.

Aerodrome | Core DEX of Base Chain
Aerodrome is a decentralized exchange based on Base. Aerodrome combines Curve, Convex, and Uniswap, adopting a ve(3,3) incentive mechanism and voting lock governance (veAERO). It completed integration with Coinbase DEX on August 8, 2025, and currently has a TVL of $660 million.
