Besant: Disappointed that Powell did not indicate a rate cut target
ChainCatcher news, according to Jinshi reports, U.S. Treasury Secretary Basent expressed disappointment over Federal Reserve Chairman Powell's failure to clearly outline a rate cut agenda. Basent pointed out that the current interest rates are too high and need to be lowered, and expressed surprise that Powell did not signal a target for at least 100 to 150 basis points of rate cuts by the end of the year. Powell stated that the Federal Reserve must consider the risks of a weak labor market and rising inflation in future decisions.
