4E: The U.S. accelerates the implementation of cryptocurrency regulations, and the market focuses on ETFs and Bitcoin corrections

ChainCatcher news reports that, according to 4E observations, SEC Chairman Paul Atkins and CFTC Acting Chair Caroline Pham stated that the two major regulatory agencies are striving to complete a cryptocurrency regulatory milestone by the end of the year. The CFTC is focusing on the management of "spot crypto trading and tokenized collateral," while the SEC is advancing the "Project Crypto" initiative, which aims to introduce an innovative regulatory exemption system. Some regulatory processes are limited due to the government shutdown. The White House previously suggested that the SEC explore safe harbor and registration exemptions, the CFTC has been authorized to regulate the spot market for non-securities digital assets, and Congress is also pushing legislation to clarify regulatory boundaries.

Meanwhile, cryptocurrency regulation is becoming a political focal point in the United States. Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters warned that the deregulation policies pushed by Trump and the Republican Party could trigger a new round of "catastrophic collapse." She stated that the government shutdown has led to a standstill at the SEC and CFTC, and the market flash crash on October 10 caused investors to lose billions of dollars, prompting investigations into suspected insider trading wallets.

As of October 20, there are 155 cryptocurrency ETF applications pending approval in the United States, covering 35 assets, with Bitcoin and Solana leading in application numbers. The asset sizes of spot BTC and ETH ETFs have reached $150 billion and $24 billion, respectively, with leveraged and staking products becoming a new trend.

In the market, the "100% win rate whale" realized a profit of approximately $835,000 after liquidating a $110 million BTC short position. Standard Chartered analysts believe that Bitcoin may briefly drop below $100,000, presenting a buying opportunity.

4E reminds investors: U.S. regulatory and political games are dominating market expectations, and short-term volatility may be amplified by policy signals. It is recommended to pay attention to the pace of regulatory implementation and changes in institutional capital flows, and to guard against the amplification effect of macro risks.
